  4.     DIED. Niven Busch, 88, screenwriter and author best known for
  5. his California historical novels and westerns; in San Francisco.
  6. In 1947 Duel in the Sun, his book about a half-breed Indian woman
  7. and two brothers from Texas, was turned into the classic film of
  8. its genre, starring Jennifer Jones and Gregory Peck. Among the
  9. screenplays Busch co-wrote were The Postman Always Rings Twice
  10. and The Westerner.
